Miku

Fancy Japanese/Sushi places have been popping up left and right on Vancouver's waterfront the past few years.

But behind this door is one of the better ones I tried - Miku.

The vibe is hip and alive. The service friendly and efficient. The food pricy, but very good.

We opted for a taster platter (an elegant way to have all you can eat sushi but with nicer options, weight control portions and twice the price).

It was a selection of sushi's and cooked dishes from the sea and the land. Excellent choice.

The specialty rolls are simple, elegant and inventive. I did not take good notes, but I think this is the Red Wave Roll.

What is topped with is an exceptional sauce - just show the picture to the server and order it.

Even the dips are elegantly presented. One is soy and the other is something sweeter and punchy.

But my favourite were the little stones to hold the chopsticks - Miku, if you are reading this, can I have a couple??

Miku is worth the trip. Reservations are probably a good idea despite how large and open the space is.
