Walk Like An Iranian....

...towards Yek-O-Yek on Main street and see what a fantastic dinner you can put together with one bag of groceries.

Four pieces of the Iranian Kebabs in tomato sauce. Ready made, warmed up on low heat and spiced up the kitchen with the lovely Iranian smells.

Add to that a piece of lamb in saffron sauce and dinner is complete.

Well, almost complete. You still have to do some work. The owner of Yek-O-Yek suggested I cook my Basmati rice with 2/3 regular Basmati and 1/3 smoked Basmati; further enhancing the Iranian aromas in the kitchen.

And while at it, pick up tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, feta cheese and the best Lebanese olive oil that you can only find at Yek-O-Yek, and a fresh Greek salad is ready; served with Iranian bread.

Smoked basmati -- cool tip! I didn't know there was such a thing. I'll have to find some, once my household goods clear Customs and I can set up a kitchen again. If smoked basmati is anywhere, it will be down here, which is even more ethnic with the cultures that use that type of rice than Vancouver is.
